I started my career in sales. For 5 years I worked remotely with US companies in building materials and manufacturing, handling leads, quotes, orders and follow-ups, and keeping the CRM up to date.
The part of the job I enjoyed most was the reporting. I was always the one asking why a lead went cold, which customers were worth another call, and why some months were slower than others. That curiosity led me to study data analytics properly.
Today I use SQL, Power BI, Tableau and Excel to answer those same kinds of questions for any business: about customers, profit, revenue and operations. My sales background means I think about who will use the analysis and what they will do with it.
